| Grains, after they are harvested in the field, must be stored for a certain period of time before they can be sold on the market, used for feeds or for seeds. The time the grain can be stored depends on its humidity content. This humidity content must be reduced to suitable levels. Corn, for example, is generally harvested in Italy with a 25% humidity level and must be dried until this percentage reaches 15%. Otherwise it will be subject to mold, fungi and attacked by insects and termites which can spoil the whole harvest. |
